Selangor Schools (Inter District) Badminton Championships 2009

Arena Badminton Team had 8 representatives in the 2009 edition of the Selangor Schools Meet. Muhd Lokman led the under 12 boy singles line up for Gombak, Kunaal Dev, Ai Wei Jian, Lai Cheng Khang and Lim Yit Toon were part of the under 15 boys squad, Grace in the under 15 girls squad and the under 18 representatives were Mark and Calvin. Not only was the quantity assessment, but the quality (performance) the best Arena has done in any state level competition. Lokman went on to win his second under 12 boys’ singles title of the year. He also won a bronze medal in the under12 doubles event partnering Mohd Omar. This was followed by an impressive performance of our under 15 chargers when Kunaal Dev won his first official Selangor State title in the under 15 boys singles event. He then went on to win the doubles title partnering Ai Wei Jian, beating compatriot Lai Cheng Khang who partnered a former Arena Badminton Team member Chang Kah Wai in the final of the under 15 boys doubles event.
